All those who have used local trains as a means of travelling or commuting once or more in their lives will know what i am about to say. And for those who are lucky enough not to travel in trains yet will swear never to board them ever in their lifetime.
local trains is one of the mostly used means of travelling for local journeys from one place to another, thus carrying thousans and lakhs of passengers daily to and fro. it is quite a spectacle to watch with people hanging and clinging onto doors risking their lives everyday to work. as they have no other options they never give up the pain of travelling in this fashion. the trains are always overpouring with people yet magically accomodate those waiting in the next station. every station seems like a treasure island waiting to supply its contents to the stuffed compartments.
From the exterior the local trains look like a serpentine machine geared with thousands of human beings. If the train looks dangerous from exterior it is painful from inside. It is a viewless interior. You can only hear the screams of people being crushed and the scarry sound of more people overboarding the train. The windows serve no purpose as they are blocked by standing passengers. Those seated find no extra comfort but only a security of not being subjected to the possibilityof getting squeezed and maimed. There is only darkness and suffocation to be experienced. The passengers whose destination station arrives have to battle their way out of the train. They have to push and shove hundreds standing on their way. They are also sometimes unable to get down in the proposed station and if they succeed somehow, they get get hurt badly by the jostling crowd.
Travelling in local trains is not a matter of joke. One has to accumulate enough courage before boarding and has to sustain it till they land. So for those inexperienced people, " Board at your own risk!"
